Here it is! I’ve spent months, weeks, days, hours, minutes thinking about what I can make my blog about. I wrote a few posts last year about the things I’m passionate about, but never felt compelled to share them with others because I was afraid. I was (and to some degree, I still am) fearful of how my thoughts and writing would be perceived. But the mission I’m on is much greater than that.
My heart and mind are on a journey to bring the messages of self-love and body positivity to others. It wasn’t until a few months ago that I realized those are the causes I’m passionate about; mostly because I’ve been in need of those messages at some point in my life. And to be honest, everyone in this lifetime has wrestled with negative thoughts about themselves due to those active “inner critics” we give so much power to. Whether we acknowledge it or not that voice will always live in us but it doesn’t have to control us.
I feel like I can share this message in my own way because I’ve been “there.” I’ve experienced anxiety, depression, an eating disorder, family drama, heartbreak, etc. I’m not unique in my story and I know I share similar stories with other men and women in this community. But I want to share lessons I’ve learned from these struggles and how I’ve grown to be more confident in my own skin. I’ll use this platform to speak about body positivity and self-love and how to have a balanced and fun relationship with food despite my history.
I hope you follow along on this and help me spread the word too! I want to impact the lives of others because I know this is something our world can have more of.
