Earlier this month, I posted my February intentions on Instagram like I usually do for accountability, inspiration, and support. I realized last night that since February is almost over, it might be good to share what I did to stay on track.
As a recap, here are my 3 intentions I wanted to focus on for this month:
- Plan ahead
- Stay focused
- Connect in my community
I specifically chose these to focus on this month because one of my yearly intentions is to use my time efficiently. I surveyed the parts of my life that could benefit form a more efficient focus and these came to mind!
How’s it going?
What really helped me build the habit is making sure I set aside time to PLAN. I designate Sunday mornings to dive into my planner where I started to schedule my workouts for the week, write a list of friends I want to reach out to, and create a schedule for each day of the week.
I know it may sound simple, but I’m not someone who plans much. Typically, I like to go with the flow and see what happens. But, I’m a point in my life where I want to accomplish some goals that I’m truly passionate about – and if I want to do that, then I need to structure my time better. So I need to be as detailed as I can when it comes to my time!
It’s been 2 weeks of planning and I feel very good my new habits so far! I’ve accomplished my goals that I set so far. I’ve setup time with good friends to catch up, made it to more workouts since I wasn’t consistent, and accomplished my daily to do list!
But the progress I’m most proud of is that I was disciplined and committed enough to create change for myself. My best time efficiency tips to find success:
- Screen time boundaries
- Plan for tomorrow, today
- Say no to distractions that are unrelated to my project
- Make it fun!
- Use stickers, different colors, etc. in your planner (phone or physical) to add some flare
- Tell people you’re working to use your time wisely so your besties are supporting you!
